I guess this guy must wanted a moment all to himself.
Miami, FL — A man who police say is connected to two robberies in Miami Beach, and several others in the county, led police on a high-speed chase from Miami Beach to Palm Beach County.
Police believe the man robbed a person at a CVS parking lot and at a Walgreens parking lot. The manager at the Walgreens told NBC 6 that the incident happened at about 8:30 a.m.
Police followed the man and a woman in a white minivan as it headed Northbound on Florida’s Turnpike toward Broward County in the vicinity of the Hard Rock on Wednesday. Miami Beach Police Department said the pursuit began after a robbery.
A police cruiser bumped the car on the right hand side in an attempted it stop the diver but it was unsuccessful.
The car zoomed by the SunPass lanes on the turnpike in Broward, approaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour, and exited Eastbound on Atlantic off the turnpike.
The car stopped briefly with police thinking the man would stop, but the driver kept on going and headed on Powerline Road in Pompano Beach before heading on Interstate 95.
Florida Highway Patrol trooper Pat Santangelo said the FHP is monitoring the chase but local department police officers are following the driver.
“The troops in Broward are monitoring the chase,” he said.
The man finally stopped the car in a residential neighborhood in Palm Beach County and fled on foot. Chopper 6 HD recorded the man trying to hide between several homes.
Police were able to corner the man who eventually sat on a patio chair and waited for officers to arrest him in the backyard of a home on Southwest 1st Street and Del Rio Blvd.
The cameras did not capture another occupant from the car.
