Some terms are just not OK

Lindsay, we’re not stupid. You’re doing this to get some media spotlight.

In an interview with Access Hollywood’s MARIA MENOUNOS Monday night, LINDSAY LOHAN proved that some celebrities should just keep quiet when it comes to politics.

The actress, who has been an outspoken supporter of newly elected President BARACK OBAMA, referred to him as, “Our first colored president,” during the interview.

Now, there are terms that are just not OK to use when referring to people of different races and ethnicities and “colored” is high up on the list. Seen as racist and derogatory, the term has not been used on prime time television since 1974, and there’s a reason for that.

Obviously Lohan was not trying to come across as racist. Still, next time she does an interview she should try her hardest not to insult an entire race.
