with confidence, “my priority right now is writing”
Regan Gomez Preston continues, “And my goal with that is, to create more work for actresses of color”
By John Charles Reedburg
“In this business you have to try and maintain longevity.”
-Regan Gomez Preston, during an interview with Datzhott
For anyone who have the privilege of knowing me, certainly knows. I never compromise the truth. Therefore, let me tell you the way it is.
Based on my recent interview with REGAN GOMEZ PRESTON (Love Don’t Cost a Thing, Love, Inc). I have a new found respect for this woman. I believe more women should have her mentality, in regards to balancing both, a family and career.
Hopefully you’ll learn as much from this interview as I did. I was fortunate enough to catch Ms. Preston on set for her latest film Elbows & Vogues.
Anyhow, enough with my blogging. Listen to the interview and see for yourself.
Also, check out Regan’s cameo appearance in T.I.’s “Whatever You Like” video.

OK. Sista. You just told it the way it is. Yes. I agree. I think should be more actresses of color getting behind the camera and creating roles for those who look like them.
OK .. now. I second that motion. WE focus on OURSELVES as a people. And stop letting Hollywood dictate the roles that we get on the big silver screen.
I really liked her in Parenthood. Oh yeah in that T.I. video, too. .. Wonder is that Elbows and Vogues flick will be any good.
Wow! Her hair always look so cute.
Wow. Dude was right. I’m really impressed with this young sista’s mind. Damn beautiful and smart. Ms Preston will you marry me. LOL! No seriously more women should think like her. You can have your cake and eat it too. Really, you can. I’ll definitely be sure to check out her new flick when it comes out. Always wanted to see her in a leading role.
Don’t feel what she’s saying just only apply to women of color. It applies to all women. If you ask me. Congrats to John Reedburg and Datzhott for making this interview. BTW, John I love your blog man. There’s nothing like it on the net. Nothing. I’m a true fan!
Yeah I love these phone interviews for this site. It’s like bam! The guy just calls them up and they’re on the phone. That John Reedburg guy is like the cell phone paparazzi LOL! Ole’ lazy bastard. LOL Just joking – I love you John! Post more interviews please!
I always been a fan of Regan Gomez Preston. If the screenplay she’s writing will be anything close to the way she flows with her insight. It’s going to be awesome. But I wish she talked more about the storyline. I’m curious as to what the screenplay is about.
@Margaret — you’re right her hair is always on point. I wonder who does it.
Even though, I’m a white man. I think more women of color should listen and learn from this young lady. The way she thinks is the change Barack Obama is talking about. OK folks, again, I know that’s weird coming from a middle-aged white boy in Cincinnati.
All I have to say is Yay!!! Zahria!!!! LOL!!! I think that Parenthood Show should have a reunion.
