Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are going for the Humanitarian Couple of the Year Award

If Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are going for the Humanitarian Couple of the Year Award, they can stop already – it’s in the bag. Today families in New Orleans moved into the first eight (of his goal of 150) energy-efficient houses that Pitt has built through his ‘Make It Right’ foundation, and according to the Associated Press, some of them are already decorated for the holiday season. But Pitt isn’t quite satisfied.

“I’m really happy for the families that are going to be here, but I can’t help but think about the families that aren’t. It’s a push-pull for me. The excitement is that it’s being proven, that it’s working. The frustration is that we have a long way to go. Pitt told the Today Show’s Ann Curry that this time next year, he is hoping to have 100 homes built.”

Not that the public would ever be content to hear an interview with Brad in which he didn’t talk about Jolie and their six kids. In a truly diplomatic fashion, he simply said that he was proud of his very “rich” family (rich in quality, I think) and when Curry asked him why he was reluctant to talk about the Jolie-Pitt crew, he answered: “It just gets cheapened somehow, as it goes through the filters in the airwaves, and some things you just want to keep close.” Aww.
