Show’s producers are keeping mum

File this under “please be true”: it’s rumored that Jackass star STEVE-O may join next season’s cast of Dancing with the Stars. The show’s producers are keeping mum, but Perez Hilton wrote earlier today that he’d heard Steve-O had already auditioned.

It’s been a rough year for Steve-O. In March, several of his friends (including Jackass co-star JOHNNY KNOXVILLE) physically removed him from his home and forced him to check into psychiatric care. In June, he pleaded guilty to cocaine possession, but will avoid jail time if he stays clean.

If this is true, I’m jazzed for Steve-O! Family entertainment is a lot less conducive to substance abuse than smashing beer cans on your head or stapling your testicles together. Right?
