JOE THE PLUMBER GOES TO WAR
// January 7th, 2009 // Hott Look@Politics
a plumber …. ? maybe, a war correspondent … I think not!
The 2008 presidential campaign’s most unlikely celebrity has become the Internet’s most unlikely war correspondent.

(TOLEDO BLADE OUT) Joe Wurzelbacher looks on as Republican vice-presidential nominee Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin speaks October 29, 2008 at Bowling Green University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Joe Wurzelbacher, also known as “Joe the plumber” of Holland, Ohio, campaigned with Palin for the first time at the event.

This is absurd.
In a blatant (and likely successful) publicity grab, the conservative-leaning pjtv.com has made JOE “THE PLUMBER” WURZELBACJER a foreign war correspondent and will be sending him to Israel to cover the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Wurzelbacher garnered national attention during the presidential election when he confronted Barack Obama on his tax plan and was held up as an example of the average working “Joe” by the McCain/Palin campaign.
Since becoming a very, very unlikely celebrity, Wurzelbacher has received speaking invitations and offers for television appearances. He’s even been offered a contract to record a country music album. But maybe he’s found his true calling in the dangerous and competitive field of combat journalism.
Perhaps most taken with his newfound celebrity is Joe himself, who seems oblivious to the fact that Gaza would find a good plumber exponentially more useful than a bad journalist. He told Toledo TV station WNWO-24 that he sees a chance to do some good work in Israel.
“I get to go over there and let their ‘Average Joes’ share their story, what they think, how they feel, especially with world opinion, maybe get a real story out there,” he said.
