don’t call it a comeback … well at least not yet

David Levy, said: “I have little sympathy for Barkley, who could have easily hired a driver (or probably paid some dude off the street to drive him around)”

Let’s call it an involuntary time off.

An unauthorized source told the AP that former NBA star CHARLES BARKLEY won’t return to his sportscaster duties anytime soon. Barkley, who was arrested December 31st on suspicion of drunk driving in Arizona, was found to have a blood alcohol level of .149, well over the legal limit of .08 in Arizona.

There is no date set for Barkley’s return yet. The president of Turner Sports, David Levy, said:

“When I spoke with Charles, he was apologetic for the events that transpired and it was obvious he understood the significance of this situation. This is an important time for Charles as he deals with the legal and personal issues that confront him. Charles is a valued part of the Turner Sports organization, and we are concerned for his well-being.

I have little sympathy for Barkley, who could have easily hired a driver (or probably paid some dude off the street to drive him around). Someone who supposedly has an interest in politics (Barkley has hinted he’d like to run for governor of Arizona) should know what total disrespect for the law his behavior displays.”
