“In the video, she plays a woman who, when her lover tries to run out on her, holds him hostage and physically tortures him”
By John Charles Reedburg
But what if Rick James did a video like this, back in the day? LOL! (R.I.P)
We’ve expressed concern about Pink’s psycho ex-girlfriend tendencies before, but she has really taken it to new heights with her latest music video for “Please Don’t Leave Me.” (Case and point: desperate song title). In the video, she plays a woman who, when her lover tries to run out on her, holds him hostage and physically tortures him. Check it out:
Hmm. She whacks his knees with a golf club, straps him in a wheelchair, and pushes him down the stairs, before the whole ordeal culminates in him spraying an aerosol can in her face while she chases him with an axe.
Well, at least this explains why she and ex-husband Carey Hart are getting back together. Poor guy must have been sweating after he saw this train wreck.
Seriously, are they getting back together? Who knows?

“The company plans to close 200 locations in the U.S. and 100 overseas, in addition to the 600 Starbucks said it would close last year”
By John Charles Reedburg
I guess in a recession everyone suffers, including the big guys.
STARBUCKS CORP., the world’s largest chain of coffee shops, said it will cut 6,700 jobs and close 300 more stores after reporting first-quarter profit that fell more than analysts estimated.
The company plans to close 200 locations in the U.S. and 100 overseas, in addition to the 600 Starbucks said it would close last year. The workforce reduction will eliminate 6,000 café positions and 700 corporate jobs, the Seattle-based chain said today in a statement.
Chief Executive Officer Howard Schultz warned in December that Starbucks’ profit would be less than analysts’ estimates at the time as sales in established stores worsened in November. Customers pinched by job losses and falling home prices are cutting back on premium coffee. The firings and closings announced today further accelerate Schultz’s plan to trim costs.

Turns out portraying a Communist revolutionary is still a little controversial

Maybe. He should’ve stayed around to take the heat.
BENICIO DEL TORO got a little hot under the collar while discussing the movie “Che” with the Washington Times’ Sonny Bunch, abruptly cutting an interview short after the questions turned to Che’s darker side. From the Times piece:
“I’m getting uncomfortable,” Benicio del Toro said after fielding a question about his new movie’s portrayal of the Bolivian and Cuban revolutions. “I’m done. I’m done, I hope you write whatever you want. I don’t give a damn.”
With that, the Oscar-winning actor walked away, abruptly terminating an interview conducted late last week to discuss director Steven Soderbergh’s “Che.” How you view Che Guevara — a noble freedom fighter of the people or a Communist thug who created the Cuban gulags — depends a lot on your politics, but its safe to say that del Toro hews closer to the former, while the Washington Times sees it much more like the latter.
The article has already garnered over a hundred comments, most of them full of invective like this, from commenter Jailbones:
It is perfect that NancyBoys Soderbergh and Del Pince-Toro portray Guevara as a tough guy and a hero – that’s about their speed.
Guevara was a pansy, like these two fairies. He enjoyed shooting unarmed people in the head, by all accounts. What he didn’t seem to enjoy so much was shooting at people with guns in their hands. When he got crazy enough to try it, a bunch of Bolivian army clowns turned him into hamburger, as well they should.
Guevara was a farcical tough guy and a murderous communist whose reputation is promoted by sissy college liberals and Hollyweird types. On the other side, commenter Artic_Lion attacks the story and reporter:
The reporter went into the interview ill-prepared. He did not even know that Che was Argentinian. He got “good copy” but that is it. I am glad that Del Toro walked out on him. He is definitely a great actor and knows a phony when he encounters one. It is too bad that too many reporters don’t go after the story but, rather, they go for sensationalism which, sadly, “makes good copy”.
The film itself has received a similarly polarized reception. In Miami, an invitation-only screening was met with angry protesters. On the other hand, a screening in Havana, Cuba saw an audience of over 2,000 give del Toro a ten-minute standing ovation.
Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich ditched his own impeachment trial to hit the talk show circuit this morning. And he says Oprah could “do good things for people.”
By John Charles Reedburg
It takes a bold man to upstage his own impeachment trial.
As the proceedings got underway today in Springfield, Ill., ROD BLAGOJEVICH ditched his own trial so he could work the talkshow circuit in New York. The Illinois governor accused of trying to sell off Barack Obama’s vacant senate seat went on The View and Good Morning America to tell them A: he’s innocent; B: Rahm Emanuel thinks so, too; and C: he considered appointing Oprah to the senate.
My thought was (here is) an African American woman who by herself probably has more influence than 100 senators. She was instrumental in the election of Barack Obama. She clearly could use her bully pulpit to do good things for people. The question was whether or not there was any chance at all that she’d be willing to do it…
How do you suggest something like that so it doesn’t look like it’s just a gimmick to get publicity at her expense. The answer is you don’t. If Blago had tried to put Oprah in the senate, everyone would have seen it as a bald-faced publicity stunt. It’s a publicity stunt to even mention it now.
Apparently, Blagojevich has given up on trying to win over the Illinois state legislature, so instead he’s trying to win over the American people. It looks like he’s hoping that makes a difference when he heads to real court where he’ll defend himself against federal corruption charges.
Blago complained that the impeachment was rigged because, unlike a real trial, hearsay is allowed, and he is not allowed to call witnesses to testify on his behalf.
Other politicians have worked at distancing themselves from the embattled governor, but Blagojevich seemed to be in name-dropping mode today, explaining that Rahm Emanuel and Valerie Jarrett could both attest to his innocence.
As he spoke to the gang on The View, the topic turned to his colorful speech.
After being warned by by Joy Behar to “watch the expletives because this is live,” Blago explained that hey, that’s how you talk when you grow up tough like him.
I was raised in a big city in a tough neighborhood, and when you’re a kid growing up in a neighborhood like that, you would never say words like that in front of your mother. But when you’re out there at the schoolyard, you’re playing basketball, or you’re out with the other guys, it’s just sort of the thing you do.
Unfortunately you try to get rid of some of those habits, you may have left the neighborhood, but part of the neighborhood never left you. What do you think? Is Blago for real? Is he being railroaded?
This footage is really shocking.People if you love cats or kittens. Please do not watch.
A fishing guide and former live fishing reporter finds out about this on a trip to Venezuela. He says many of the participants are American. Please help him bring attention to this and hopefully prevent this incredibly cruel practice.
Federline is in talks to join the next season, as his career “isn’t exactly where he wants it to be.”
Star reports that KEVIN FEDERLINE, Britney Spears’ famously trashy ex-husband, may be on the next season of Dancing With the Stars. This might have been more interesting were Cindy McCain still in talks to do the show.
Federline’s career “isn’t exactly where he wants it to be,” claims the magazine. Considering I have no idea what Federline’s “career” consists of (other than cashing the checks he gets from Britney), they’re probably right. These days K-Fed is only in the news for his weight-gain (some tabloids have dubbed him “K-Fat”) and his relationship with 26-year-old former-volleyball player Victoria Prince.
It may be a bit unfair to put Kevin up against all those other C-Listers, though. Kevin was once a professional hip hop dancer; he even danced backup for Britney. Still, if Dancing With the Stars will keep him out of the recording booth, then I’m all for it.
