The photos were reportedly taken by Los Angeles police detectives shortly after the altercation between RIHANNA and CHRIS BROWN, and seem to have been leaked to website TMZ by someone within the police department. Sources close to us confirmed that the pic sold for $62,500.
The Los Angeles Police Department put out a statement last night, saying the leak was an “unauthorized release of a domestic violence photograph,” and that an “internal investigation” will be conducted to figure out just how TMZ got their hands on the image.
Meanwhile, Rihanna’s father Ronald Fenty spoke publicly about his anger at seeing the photos leaked to the public. Speaking to People, Fenty said that the photo leak was “sloppy work their part,” referring to the LAPD.
