Q: how do you describe yourself musically?
Brevi responds, “… a little more prettier than rap.”
By John Charles Reedburg (CEO/Publisher/Executive-Producer)
Q: What is your advice for new artist trying to break into the business?”
A: “When you remain yourself it’s always a chance.”
Brevi – during an exclusive interview with Datzhott.com
In this Hott and Raw Exclusive, Universal/Republic recording artist BREVI, sheds light on what to expect on her upcoming album and the experience she’s gained in the industry so far.
The former emcee says that she considers herself a b-girl by definition and as a wearer of many hats, she’s what you’d refer to as a multi-talented with skills in all, breaking, tagging, rapping and singing. There is no bravado about her and it’s obvious that she loves hip-hop music.
I think Brevi is about to stand tall in the game. Don’t believe me? Just check out her joint. It speaks for itself.

WHAT’S COOL! ABOUT BREVI?
Easy answer.
Her music is so HOTT! LOL! No seriously.
Her days of working at Larrabee eventually paid off. One night Brevi overheard a music exec, Savalas Holloway, talking about how he felt it was time for something fresh in the business. Touched by his words, and knowing she had something unique and refreshing to offer, Brevi handed him her CD.
At 3 a.m. that same night the front desk called Brevi and told her Holloway was repeat playing her CD in the parking lot, surrounded by his homeboys. The big timers were bumping Brevi’s music.
Holloway put Brevi in the studio with Eric Hicks and Da Internz production team and after six days they had created magic.
A week later, she was signed to Holloway and Leonard Brooks’ company, Syatt Music Group. Leonard took her music to Monte and Avery Lipman and Wendy Goldstein at Universal/Republic Records, and they were offered a deal.
Currently, Brevi has about 30 songs complete for her debut, which is scheduled to drop in the first half of ‘09. She’s written about 98% of it.
Songs like “Mercedes,” “Bang Bang” featuring Baby Cham and “Still Happy” showcase the best of Brevi’ melodic rap-singing delivery. It’s obvious she’s more influenced by old school jazz than modern day hip-hop.
