“Stylist Moses, claims she was promised a salary of $50,000-a-year in 2005, and is now due $300,000”
Give it to ‘em Queen! … now what song is that from? LOL!
QUEEN LATIFAH apparently enjoys having employees, but the idea of paying them totally escapes her. Two lawsuits were filed in Manhattan Federal Court yesterday by cosmetologist Roxanna Floyd and stylist Susan Moses, accusing the actress, rapper and singer of failing to pay their promised salaries.
Latifah apparently failed to pay the women a combined $1 million for their work on her Curvations lingerie line and CoverGirl campaign.
Stylist Moses, claims she was promised a salary of $50,000-a-year in 2005, and is now due $300,000. The suit even claims Latifah realized she owed Moses money, apologized for not paying, but still never coughed up the money.
According to the New York Daily News attorney Carmen Giordano wrote:
“Despite such demands and assurances as well as expressions of remorse for having stiffed plaintiff… defendants have completely failed to pay plaintiff for her services and expenses related to Curvations.”
Cosmetologist Floyd, who was a consultant on the CoverGirl line of cosmetics known as the “Queen Collection,” claims she’s owed a total of $700,000.
A spokesperson for Latifah, who’s real name is Dana Owens, told the Daily News the suits are “without merit,” but would not confirm or deny the claims.
