Newsom by-passed all media outlets (even the ailing San Francisco Chronicle)

San Francisco Mayor GAVIN NEWSOM used the SF-based Web site Tuesday morning to announce his candidacy for governor of California. Newsom’s announcement comes as no surprise. Many were expecting the high-profile mayor to make a run for governor.

Newsom by-passed all media outlets (even the ailing San Francisco Chronicle) to give the information directly to anyone following his Twitter feed :
