ironic but undoubtfully truthful!
“I know there’s a lot of different viewpoints on sex”
Hollywood is getting very sex-crazed, these days.
Heroes star HAYDEN PANETTIERE surprised audiences Wednesday at the Candie’s Foundation town hall meeting on teen pregnancy prevention when she showed up alongside Bristol Palin to discuss abstinence and planned parenthood.
Bristol used her time in front of the cameras on Good Morning America and the Today show to promote abstinence, even though she’s said before that she doesn’t think it’s a realistic choice. For her part, Hayden didn’t go quite that far:
“I know there’s a lot of different viewpoints on sex, and I’m not someone who will ever pooh-pooh anything or say this is not right or this is wrong. Just do what you’re going to do, as long as you’re safe. As long as you’re smart.
I don’t think it’s something that’s talked about enough and I think that it’s just human nature to not realize the severity of an issue until it happens to you, until it directly impacts your life. And you go, ‘I’ll never get pregnant. It will never happen to me. I know it happens but it won’t happen to me. I’ll never get in a car accident, I know it happens, but it won’t happen to me.’ Until it happens and then it’s too late.”
Hayden’s participation in the event is made much more interesting by Page Six’s report today, which claims that the actress was overheard talking to a friend about David Duchovny’s recent sex addiction rehab. Panettiere said, “Well, if I had to be addicted to something, it would be sex!”
She’d be a safe and smart addict, we assume.
