Last night’s BET Awards were a fairly somber event in the wake of Michael Jackson’s death on Thursday. The clothes, however, were anything but somber. Thank goodness.

The GOOD!

Alicia Keys’ Jenny Packham dress is perfect for the BET Awards – it’s shiny and eye-catching, but it’s not ridic.

Zoe Saldana was gorgeous in a structured white Calvin Klein dress and Brian Atwood heels. I’m loving the gentle curls, but I have the feeling she’s hiding an interesting neckline under all that hair.

Kanye West and his girlfriend Amber Rose (guess they’re still together) kept it simple: he in lumberjack boots, she in a white mini dress and a pair of hot pink pumps.

A leather dress in June? Whatever, Ciara looks hot in it.

Speaking of hot, check out Tatyana Ali! Someone give this girl a comeback, stat.

I have the feeling Estelle won’t be the only one wearing a white glove in the coming months.

Tyra Banks’ silky blouse and slacks look like something Michael Jackson might have worn in the early mid-90s, so she gets a pass.

I actually think Keri Hilson’s sparkly dress is pretty HOTT! – it does amazing things for her body, but her two-toned hair is just bringing her down.

Beyoncé loves her Balmain, so this isn’t particularly surprising. She’s gotta bring the fierce, right? But as Olivia puts it, “She can be fierce without being like, a crotch shot.” I bet she had trouble walking:

The BAD!

Teairra Mari went for something short and sweet, and probably can’t move for fear of flashing.

Remember Monica? Well, she’s edgy now.

Cassie, you’re so, so beautiful. But this dress screams, “Remember my nudie photos? PLEASE REMEMBER MY NUDIE PHOTOS AMERICA!“

Dresses like these make me wish reality stars could be universally banned from the red carpet. Oh boy, Omarosa.

The Ugly!

This Alexander McQueen dress should never have seen the red carpet. When the nude body stocking is visible beneath the dress, you’ve lost, Melody Thornton. But at the same time my mouth is still wondering for a bite into one of those thighs! LOL!
