But Debbie Rowe once described the naming decision a little differently, saying, “Paris was conceived in Paris, that’s how she got her name. Michael wanted to call her Princess, but I thought that was stupid.”

PARIS HILTON was the inspiration behind MICHAEL JACKSON’s name for his daughter, Paris Michael Jackson — or so she says. At the screening of the MTV documentary Paris, Not France this week, Paris told Extra the whole story:

“My mom and Michael went to high school together and they were best friends since they were 13.

So I grew up knowing Michael very well and when he had his daughter, he always loved the name Paris and grew up being an uncle to me. So he asked my mom if it was okay and of course she said yes and I think she’s such a beautiful little girl and I’m proud we have the same name.

Paris’s version of events is certainly plausible, since mom Kathy Hilton is also 50 years old (the same age as Jackson when he died).”
