Rumors are flying that TYRA BANKS and her investment banker beau JOHN UTENDAHL may be tying the knot soon. The cause of all the furor is a large diamond ring that Banks was spotted sporting recently while out and about, causing some to wonder whether Utendahl had proposed.
However, the rumors appear to be just that, with not much truth behind them. A spokesperson for Tyra Banks released a statement, saying, “Tyra is not engaged. It’s her high school ring and she wears it almost every day.”
The two have been seeing each other for two years, and are often photographed entering and leaving LA-area hotspots. However, both Banks and Utendahl have remained tight-lipped about their relationship, with even the famously over-sharing Banks usually preferring to keep quiet on the subject of her love life.

LeVAR BURTON’s 26-year run with the PBS show that taught children to love reading is coming to an end. Burton is the executive producer and host of the popular Reading Rainbow, known also for his role as Kunte Kinte in Roots and Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Reading Rainbow is coming to an end after failing to generate the funds necessary to keep it in production. Reading Rainbow is the 3rd-longest running children’s show behind Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood.
John Grant, of WNED Buffalo, where Reading Rainbow is based, told NPR Friday that the show ran up against different philosophical views relating to children’s literacy. Recent funding has focused on teaching kids how to read — something Rainbow was never meant to do.
“Reading Rainbow taught kids why to read,” Grant says. “You know, the love of reading — [it] encouraged kids to pick up a book and to read.”
Reading Rainbow was known for its book reviews delivered by children, and Burton’s catch phrases such as “I’ll see you next time,” and “But don’t take my word for it.”
Linda Simensky, vice president for children’s programming at PBS called the show’s run “miraculous.” She said its end is bittersweet, but that funding is needed for programs that teach the mechanics of reading.
“We’ve been able to identify the earliest steps that we need to take,” Simensky said. “Now we know what we need to do first. Even just from five years ago, I think we all know so much more about how to use television to teach.”

The Drug Enforcement Administration has classified the venom of the Colorado River toad as a highly dangerous hallucinogenic psychedelic.
Right – all those gags in frat boy flicks about licking a toad and getting all Seth Rogen-y WEIRD are ALL true!
The DEA is placing the powerful psychedelic tryptamine 5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (5-MeO-DMT) and its salts into the Controlled Substances Act meaning those toads secreting drugs now “cannot be possessed, cultivated, sold, bought, consumed or traded in the United States.’
In the past, far-out head trippers found a similar psychedelic in snuff made from virola bark resin, but it’s far more toxic when found in the venom of the Colorado River toad.
The DEA classifies such narcotics under the notorious Schedule I for drugs that have no accepted medical use and have a high potential for abuse.
Not to mention the psychological repercussions of said toad licking.

MICHAEL JACKSON’s family is planning to spend almost $1,500 to move the star’s sperm sample to a secure London clinic, in order to protect it from “unscrupulous” people who might try to create a new heir to his fortune.
Michael, who died in June, deposited the genetic material in a Los Angeles sperm bank last year. He was hoping it could be used to conceive his fourth child, but his family now fears “rogue elements” could use it to get their hands on Michael’s billion dollar estate. A source told Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper:
It might sound crazy but when it comes to Michael anything is possible. With everything that’s at stake the last thing the Jackson family need is someone using his sperm to give birth to a child and produce another potential heir to Michael’s estate.
The family know Michael authorized a number of people to access this sperm sample. The problem is they don’t know who has access and given that a number of doctors have been implicated in his death then something sinister could easily happen. The Jackson family has reportedly chosen to store the sperm in the British clinic because it has “extremely strict” security. A clinic source said: “The samples are kept behind unbreakable barriers and we have several layers of security operating around the sperm bank 24 hours a day.” Once there, the sample will be cryogenically frozen and stored under an anonymous identity number.
Michael had three children: Prince Michael I, 12, Paris, 11 and seven-year-old Prince Michael II, also known as “Blanket.” His former wife Debbie Rowe is the mother of his eldest children, while Blanket’s mother is unknown.
Michael insisted he was the biological father of his children, but his dermatologist Arnold Klein claims he fathered Prince Michael I and Paris. Klein’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan said: “There was a possibility that the two older kids could be biologically linked to Dr. Klein. And Dr. Klein was well aware.”
Klein has refused to take a DNA test to determine his biological relationship to the children. Kaplan explained: “It would serve no helpful purpose for the children to be distracted from believing Michael Jackson is not the father in every possibility. It would be of interest to other people. It is not something Dr. Klein feels he is interested to establish. It would serve no purpose other than creating distraction or noise. It is not going to help the children, other than to solve the answered question, which is a selfish motive to see who the ultimate provider of the 13 chromosomes is.”
