The BACKSTREET BOYS were forced to cancel a public meet-and-greet event today, after member BRIAN LITTRELL was diagnosed with H1N1 virus, better known as swine flu. The remaining members of the group — Nick Carter, Howie Dorough and AJ McLean — have all met with a doctor are not currently showing any signs of the infectious virus.

However, all members of the group and their touring staff are all taking Tamiflu as a precaution. The Backstreet Boys just returned from a tour in Toyko, Japan. While Littrell recuperates, the group has canceled a series of planned performances, including a spot on CBS’ Early Show and a fan-only performance at PC Richard & Son Theater in New York City.

Littrell isn’t the only celeb to recently come down with swine flu. Among the recently infected include CNN correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Swedish crooner Jens Lekman. Singer Marilyn Manson was rumored to have swine flu, though he representatives later shot down the claim.
