Kanye trades a rap sheet for volunteer time at the Red Cross as punishment for bashing a photographer’s camera at the airport last September.

Hopefully KANYE WEST celebrates responsibly this weekend — a court commissioner agreed to drop all the charges against the artist for his run-in with paparazzi at the airport last September, so he’s definitely got reason to rejoice.

He’ll avoid the misdemeanor for smashing a cameraman’s pricey piece of equipment, and instead agreed to complete 50 hours of community service. His attorney says he’ll spend the time helping out at the Red Cross. Oh, and he says they’re “very pleased” with the dismissal (via E! Online). Ya think?

Apparently Kanye’s already completed 12 hours of anger-management classes, too. We’re assuming they were after the whole Taylor Swift showdown? Or maybe they don’t teach manners there. Either way, he’s off the hook.

It was pretty likely that this would be the outcome, given no one was seriously injured in the altercation, and the charges were dropped down from felonies to misdemeanors 6 months after the episode. Clearly no one was in a big hurry to take Kanye off the streets after the incident. And, it helps that the rapper doesn’t have a wrap sheet.
