wait-a-minute! … he actually left the group at one point! … WOW-SERS! … noticed something was different … LOL!
“It’ll be my first solo album. So that’s something to look forward to before we do our reunion later on in life.”

After a six year absence from Boyz II Men, Michael McCary is set to bring back the bass to the most successful R&B outfit of all-time ahead of the groups 20th Anniversary Album scheduled for release in 2010.
Battling scoliosis, a severe back problem, McCary left Boyz II Men in 2003 after being unable to perform pain free through the heavy schedule Boyz II Men undertake each year.
But now the man who gets women weak at the knees just by talking with his signature bass voice, is set to return and perform with Boyz II Men in a New Years Eve concert in California, hosted by McCary himself.
In an interview with wtvonline.net, McCary smiled as he laid out his plans for the New Years Eve party, “I’ll be announcing the fact that I’m doing my celebrity album, my first solo album ever in the whole career of Boyz II Men.
“It’ll be my first solo album. So that’s something to look forward to before we do our reunion later on in life.”
And while fans await the reunion/anniversary album, McCary has plans to rock the microphone on New Years Eve, “I’m thinking of performing one of the joints from my album,” also adding, “a duet with Az Yet as well.”
Along with Az Yet, Aaron Hall is also set to perform on the night.
With Boyz II Men and McCary under the bright lights, it will only be expected the guys will reunite on stage for a stirring ballad or two, or three.
With original members, Nathan Morris, Shawn Stockman and Wanya Morris still going strong with Boyz II Men, releasing their newest album, “LOVE”, earlier this week, the trio are more than happy to welcome McCary back into the group.
In a recent interview with BBC News in England, Nathan Morris hinted at the return of McCary, “Next year we’re talking about a 20th Anniversary album and there is a small possibility that he will be back just for that one album.”
The latest release, “LOVE”, which has turned many heads and popped up many ears, is receiving outstanding applause from fans of the group, with Boyz II Men’s cover of the Goo Goo Dolls, “Iris”, a true stand-out to the diversity of the covers album, and highlighting the ability from the guys to master anything they attempt.
