It isn’t easy being one of the coolest rappers around. SNOOP DOGG insists that juggling fame with leading a regular life is harder than it looks, and he wants his fans to realize how “difficult” it is to be him. He said: “I wanted to tell how difficult it really is, the whole business. We make it look easy, but in fact it’s the hardest job in the world. And it’s not just about the pimp, it’s about the whole job. When you’re a cool player, then you just do your work, however hard it is, and you make it seem easy and relaxed.”
Despite his gripes, Snoop, who has three children with wife Shante, insists he has mastered multi-tasking and is capable of doing several things at once. He added: “I’ve always been good at multi-tasking. I’ve always been doing more than other people, even in the past. No matter if it was mowing the lawn, singing in the choir or selling drugs. I’ve always been able to do four or five things at a time.”
While he also runs a children’s football team and his own record label, Snoop says he has tried to cut back his interests in order to not “overwhelm” his fans.
He added to Stern.de: “I got the impression that I was overwhelming the people with all my different projects. Acting, the business with the label, football. I wanted to go back to my roots as a rapper and present myself the way people have known me for the longest. I wanted to show that even after all this time I’m still relevant and have what it takes. That’s my legacy. One and a half decades, ten top-notch records. Still top of the game. Other rappers disappear after one or two successful albums. That never happened to me. I just wanted to prove that again.”
