WHAT‘s HOTT!!! ABOUT LAWANDA MICHELLE!?!
Although born in Texas and raised in Atlanta until 7 years old, LaWanda Michelle considers Brooklyn, NY her home. It was in Brooklyn that she developed her musical tastes and interests and discovered her passion for music. As an avid lover of all genres of music ranging from opera to reggae, R&B and hip-hop, LaWanda’s eclectic musical taste can be heard in her music. Her unique style can be noted as “hip-hop in a skirt,” which adds an extra dimension to her artistry. LaWanda provides a combination of mellow vocals, direct and sassy lyrics, and deep elements of soul, hip-hop, and R&B – which can be heard over heavy hitting tracks. Lawanda is quick to point out that everything she listens to has inspired her musically in some way. “I write from a place of experience. I draw from any and everything around me…everything I see, I hear, my own personal experiences and those of others, it can all be heard and felt in my music,” she says.
Lawanda Michelle’s musical ambitions continue to abound daily and she will stop at nothing to make sure her voice is heard and her music reaches the masses. More than just a singer and songwriter, she epitomizes the definition of artist. When asked what the ingredients to her success are, Lawanda casually replies “Lots of endurance, hard work, long hours and raw talent. Where I am now in my career is a very exciting time, and I’m going to continue to give my music and my fans all I have.”
LaWanda currently holds a B.A. in Music Business from the City University of New York’s prestigious Baruch. As an artist and professional woman in the music industry, LaWanda Michelle’s journey is one that is sure to leave an imprint in the hearts and souls of many.
