Wow – where will it end?
Television producers understand the kind of men whose personal lives we’d like to peek into – think Hulk Hogan and Snoop Dogg — and they’ve nailed it with their latest pick, MICHAEL VICK. The new Philadelphia Eagles player and former dogfight ringmaster has signed up for a new BET reality show, tentatively called The Michael Vick Project.
According to the LA Times, the show will see quarterback fresh out of his 18-month stay in prison, joining up with the Eagles and coming to terms with his troubled past. Vick said, “I just want people to really get to know me as an individual. What I want to do is change the perception of me. I am a human being. I’ve made some mistakes in the past, and I wish it had never happened. But it’s not about how you fall, but about how you pick yourself up.”
One group that isn’t pleased about Vick’s return to the spotlight is PETA. A spokesman for the animal rights activists said, “People who abuse animals don’t deserve to be rewarded. They shouldn’t be given multimillion-dollar contracts… or given the privilege of being a role model. We don’t believe Michael Vick understands the seriousness of his crime. I think he’s sorry he got caught, but only time will tell if he’s truly remorseful.”
The shows producers have emphasized that the program will be a “docu-series” and not a reality show. Cue the serious tone.

When things get heated – this is bound to happen!
During Tuesday’s BLUE JAYS vs. YANKESS game, the Yankee’s Jorge Posada wasn’t a happy camper and decided that he’d connect his elbow to Blue Jays pitcher Jesse Carlson, starting an all in brawl. The lead up to that point had been tense, with a number of Blue Jay’s batters being hit, but little did they expect what was coming next.
The brawl, that started with Posada and Carlson taking swings at each other, included numerous scuffles as both teams rushed the field. According to reports, Rod Barajas and the Yankees Shelley Duncan was one of the better fights in the brawl.

Wow-sers … as she is finally opening up!
ESPN personality ERIN ANDREWS talked to OPRAH WINFREY about the peephole tape that made her life a “nightmare” in an interview scheduled to air Friday, Sept. 11, 2009.
Andrews told Oprah she “opened up the computer (and) could feel my heart pounding,” after the blurry 5-minute tape was posted online. Andrews’ attorney has said the tape was shot at a hotel without her knowledge, and she is seeking to file suit against anyone posting or distributing the video.
Andrews’ interview appears on a show about summer headlines made to kick off the 24th season of the Oprah Winfrey Show. The sportscaster said she’s looking forward to getting back to work as football season picks up, saying “it’s really going to help me heal my wounds.”
Erin Andrews has worked for ESPN since 2004 and was named “sexiest sportscaster” by Playboy magazine in 2008 and 2009.
