A blizzard rages in New York City, keeping many international fashionistas from descending on the fashion capital of the United States, but the snow couldn’t keep LADY GAGA from appearing at amFar’s NY Gala to Kick Off Fall 2010 Fashion Week.

Gaga seemed to be in good spirits, taking inspiration from the wintery weather outside and applying it to, well, her face. The beloved performer worked the red carpet covered in white body paint with tiny faux pearls stuck to her face and body. Despite the cold, the singer wore – what else? – a tiny white bikini, a white jacket, and monstrous white platform boots.

The one drawback to covering yourself in white paint: it really makes your teeth look yellow. Oops!

Israeli supermodel BAR REFAELI stars in the sexy new Spring 2010 ad campaign for popular sportswear brand Rampage. Refaeli began representing the brand last year, when she replaced Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen (with whom Refaeli shares an ex-boyfriend, actor Leonardo DiCaprio).

The ads were shot in Paris Hilton’s former home in Los Angeles by fashion photographer Gilles Bensimon.

While most Americans were riding mellow on Thanksgiving Day tryptophan, many of Hollywood’s brightest stars were in Marrakesh, Morocco for the grand opening of the Mamounia hotel. Among the many bold names attending the lavish inauguration were Salma Hayek, Miranda Kerr, Jennifer Aniston, and Orlando Bloom.

But it was GWYNETH PALTROW who looked most lovely on the Mamounia hotel’s red carpet, thanks to her modified Donna Karan Spring 2010 gown in a gentle blush hue. The dress perfectly captures the sort of elegant exoticism an event like this requires. I actually prefer the dress before modification, but understand that the longer hem creates more of a Goddess-look.

Gwyneth paired the dress with peep-toe platforms and a bright berry lip color.

Precious, the little indie film that could, is finally hitting theaters this month, after more than a year of near-constant buzz about triumphant performances by Mo’Nique and a mustachioed Mariah Carey. Also starring in the film is the beautiful PAULA PATTON, who has looked nothing short of radiant at all of the film’s promotional events.

At the Los Angeles premiere over the weekend, Ms. Patton (singer Robin Thicke’s wife) wore a lovely violet corseted dress by Bottega Veneta. She paired the dress with some strappy sandals and an interesting pearl necklace and earrings set (although I’m not sure they really work with the edginess of those sandals). Patton showed off the jewels with a sleek, sophisticated low bun.

BAD-GIRL supermodel Naomi Campbell has over-powered the big-hitters of style with a demonstration of why she’s “the best walker on the catwalk”.

Designers Matthew Williamson and Antonio Berardi made their hotly anticipated return to London Fashion Week yesterday, injecting serious glamour into the event as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.

But Campbell proved, at the age of 39, that supermodel is still the most sought-after label, with a leggy display of outfits by Issa’s Daniella Helayel.

“Naomi is pure hurricane – she’s the best walker on the catwalk, she’s the sunshine after the storm,” Helayel was reported as saying. “Every time she walks, the audience screams and claps. I’m very pleased she wanted to wear three outfits, as she only wears what she likes. She is the top model in swimwear, and looks better than any 21-year-old I know.”

Williamson, a New Yorker for the past seven years, presented typically colourful and sexy dresses enhanced by intricate beading, metallic fabrics and shards of mirrors.

“It’s great that he’s coming back to London. I wish they’d all come back to London. That’s where they originated, that’s where they trained,” said Twiggy, the model who became the face of the 1960s.

It was rumored earlier this week that Louis Vuitton was pushing back the sale date on the kicks, which Kanye has named The Jaspers, The Dons, and Mr. Hudson, but it now appears that they actually were in stores today, for a brief moment in time. A salesperson at a NYC Louis Vuitton store told The Cut people had been inquiring about the shoes since January.

But don’t feel too sad – did you really want to spend $1,140 on a pair of sneakers? Because that’s how much The Jasper would have cost you.

Last night’s BET Awards were a fairly somber event in the wake of Michael Jackson’s death on Thursday. The clothes, however, were anything but somber. Thank goodness.

Alicia Keys’ Jenny Packham dress is perfect for the BET Awards – it’s shiny and eye-catching, but it’s not ridic.

Zoe Saldana was gorgeous in a structured white Calvin Klein dress and Brian Atwood heels. I’m loving the gentle curls, but I have the feeling she’s hiding an interesting neckline under all that hair.

Kanye West and his girlfriend Amber Rose (guess they’re still together) kept it simple: he in lumberjack boots, she in a white mini dress and a pair of hot pink pumps.

A leather dress in June? Whatever, Ciara looks hot in it.

I have the feeling Estelle won’t be the only one wearing a white glove in the coming months.

Yesterday Kanye posted a blog entry featuring a large image of Beyoncé Knowles’ new Vogue Cover with the headline, “I KNOW I’M MAD LATE …. ESPECIALLY SINCE ANNA TOLD ME BOUT THIS COVER BEFORE IT DROPPED.”

RICHIE RICH, the NYC club kid-turned-fashion designer who co-founded Heatherette, loves his glitz.

The hard-partying designer reveled in “trash and flash,” using appearances on America’s Next Top Model and runway divas like Paris Hilton and Jenna Jameson to bring attention to his ultrasparkly, cartoonish designs. Unfortunately, not even Ms. Hilton could save the line from losing financial backing, and the label shut down last year.

Despite the recession, it seems the fashion world still has a place for glitter and false eyelashes. Richie Rich is back, full throttle. He even got the empress of trashy couture, PAMELA ANDERSON, to close his Wednesday evening fashion show in body glitter and a gold thong swimsuit.

Joining Pam on the runway were NYC socialite Tinsley Mortimer, ANTM’s CariDee English, and ex-Danity Kane singer Aubrey O’Day. Guess, Rich loves his blondes, eh?
