Singer and actress JENNIFER HUDSON gave birth to her first son David in August, and like most new moms, she admits she’d love to continue eating as much as she did when she was pregnant. Thanks to her high-profile career, Jennfier’s been forced to “snap back” to a healthier diet to lose her baby weight.

She told ETOnline: “The trick is getting back into your old ways. If I could go around eating like I ate while I was pregnant, that’d be the way to go. But you have to snap back to it. It’s like an on and off switch, you have to go back to the norm.”

The 28-year-old star. who has the 10-week-old tot with her fiance, trainee wrestler David Otunga, loves being a mother and is amazed at how quickly her son is growing. She said: “He’s continually growing every day and getting smarter and cuter as the days go by. He tries to talk. He really tries and makes noises like, ‘Yaaaaaah’. Nothing comes out, but he really tries to talk. I’m just like, ‘Are you serious?’ He really tries. He’s adorable. I love him. He tries to smile too, and I love it, love it, love it.”

Singer and Oscar-winning actress JENNIFER HUDSON, who never officially announced her pregnancy, gave birth to a baby boy late Monday, reports showbiz411.com.

Hudson and fiance DAVID OTUNGA named the boy David Daniel Otunga, Jr., but they chose to keep the baby’s gender a mystery until the birth. They had reportedly bought both blue and pink baby clothes just in case. David, Jr. was conceived shortly after tragedy struck Hudson when her mother, brother and nephew were murdered last October.

Hudson kept a low-profile after the ordeal, making her first public appearance at Superbowl XLIII, where she sang the Star Spangled Banner. When she recently performed at Michael Jackson’s memorial service, Hudson was noticeably showing.

David, Jr., who reportedly weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces, is Hudson’s first child.

JENNIFER HUDSON, who has for weeks denied that she has a baby on the way, is most definitely pregnant. Either that, or her friends enjoy throwing baby showers for people at random.

Singer/actress Felicia Fields, a friend of Hudson’s, told the Chicago Tribune that Jennifer is indeed pregnant, saying of the party she and other friends threw for Hudson in Chicago, “It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family. They’re really trying to keep it kind of quiet.”

Which is why she’s telling the papers, huh?

Hudson, 27, is one of the brightest stars to come out of American Idol. After finishing seventh in the third season of the show, she went on to win an Academy Award for her performance in Dreamgirls.

Hudson is engaged to DAVID OTUNGA, best known for his appearance on the reality TV show I Love New York. He was by her side during the tragic murders of her mother, brother, and nephew in Chicago last fall.

I never believed this d*mn rumor in the first place.

In a fun game of back and forth, various outlets have both confirmed and denied that American Idol alum and platinum-selling star JENNIFER HUDSON is pregnant.

“Essence” ostensibly confirmed the story earlier today, speaking with “two close sources” to Hudson. Various gossip blogs, including Perez Hilton, quickly jumped on the story, blasting that Hudson was one hundred percent for sure with child.

But now “Essence” has yanked the story down, and Hudson’s reps are firmly denying the rumor. When the Chicago Sun-Times reporter Bill Zwecker emailed Hudson’s representative Lisa Kasteler, he got back a simple, straightforward reply of: “Jennifer is not pregnant.”

Sorry celebrity baby fans, but it looks like Hudson isn’t going to be a mother quite yet.

Hudson is currently engaged to DAVID ORTEGA, though the two haven’t set a date for the wedding. She’s on tour through May 8 with ROBIN THICKE.

Shocked but not disappointed.

In the first performance since her family tragedy became public last fall, JENNIFER HUDSON sang a breathtaking rendition of the Star Spangled Banner before the Super Bowl last night. The performance was almost as touching as, say, Yo-Yo Ma and company at President Obama’s inauguration. See the parallel?

It turns out that Miss Hudson lip-synched yesterday to a prerecorded track of her singing – and producer Ricky Minor didn’t even try to deny it. He admitted that he’s the one who insisted Hudson should not sing live, saying:

“That’s the right way to do it. There’s too many variables to go live. I would never recommend any artist go live, because the slightest glitch would devastate the performance.”

Minor also produced Whitney Houston’s legendary 1991 performance of the national anthem, which is already being compared to Hudson’s. It begs the question: Was Houston lip-synching, too? Minor’s attitude toward live singing would indicate that he might have given Houston the same advice as he gave Hudson, but he didn’t comment on it.

Adding to the already burdensome pressure of Hudson’s national anthem performance was, of course, the fact that it was her first public appearance since her mother, brother and seven-year-old nephew were murdered in October.

Minor said, “This was such an important performance, because it’s the first time everyone has seen Jennifer. But she’s in such a great place, with such great spirits, and time can heal her wounds. She’s on fire right now and totally grounded.”

After she finished the national anthem, Hudson asked Minor how the performance went. He told her, “Touchdown!” artist go live.”

JENNIFER HUDSON, suffering the murders of her mother, brother and nephew, expressed gratitude Thursday for her four Grammy nominations for her debut album.

“It’s been a childhood dream of mine to release an album,” she said in a statement, “so to receive four Grammy nominations is truly a blessing. I’m extremely honored and humbled by the nominations.”

Hudson, 27, was nominated for best R&B album for her self-titled album, best female R&B vocal performance, best R&B song for “Spotlight” and best R&B performance by a duo or group with vocals for her duet with FANTASIA, “I’m His Only Woman.”

The nominations were announced on the same day her estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, was ordered held without bail in the Chicago shooting deaths of Hudson’s mother DARNELL DONERSON, 57, brother JASON HUDSON, 29, and nephew, JULIAN KING, 7.

State prisoner panel rules after hearing

WILLIAM BALFOUR is likely to remain behind bars at least three more weeks while police continue to investigate the triple homicide of actress Jennifer Hudson’s family.

Illinois prison officials Monday ordered that Balfour, the lone known suspect in the case, continue to be held on a parole violation at least until a Dec. 3 hearing. At a closed hearing in Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill, investigators presented evidence that Balfour had a gun matching the weapon used in the Oct. 24 slayings of Hudson’s brother, mother and young nephew, Jorge Montes, chairman of the Illinois Prisoner Review Board, said later.

Prosecutors have not charged Balfour, 27, a former convict, with any crime related to the murders.

The Prisoner Review Board’s chief reason for holding Balfour was a report from Cook County prosecutors that his girlfriend, identified as Shonta Cathey, said she saw him holding a gun that matched the color of the murder weapon, Montes said.
“It’s a very serious allegation,” Montes said at a news conference outside the prison near Joliet.

In addition, the board said he had violated parole by being in locations where drugs were sold. That allegation stemmed from a June 19 drug arrest, but Balfour’s parole was not revoked at that time, and the charge was later dropped.

During the hearing, Balfour protested the evidence that authorities used to hold him, Montes said.

Balfour, who has been estranged from his wife, Julia Hudson, sister of the Oscar-winning actress, has been on parole since his release from prison for a 1999 attempted murder conviction.

If the board continues to revoke his parole, Balfour could be held to the end of his sentence in May 2009.

After Balfour was questioned by Chicago detectives for 48 hours, his parole was revoked following the murders. He has been held in Stateville since Oct. 26.

Balfour acknowledged being at the Hudson’s Englewood home on the morning that the actress’ mother and brother were gunned down inside the house, law enforcement sources said. Julia Hudson’s son, Julian, 7, was abducted and three days later his body was found.

WILLIAM BALFOUR, the only individual to be identified as a “person of interest” in the shootings of Jennifer Hudson’s mother and brother, allegedly told his girlfriend he was involved in the murders, sources told the Chicago Tribune.

However, Balfour’s girlfriend reportedly told police that he was not involved in the death of Hudson’s 7-year-old nephew, Julian King. Julian, the son of Jennifer’s sister (and Balfour’s estranged wife) Julia, went missing around the time of the shootings. His body was later discovered in an SUV on the South Side of Chicago.

Law enforcement officials reportedly told the Tribune that Balfour allegedly stated that he was at the Hudsons’ home the morning of the murders.

Darnell Donerson and Jason Hudson, the mother and brother of Oscar winner Jennifer, were found dead on the afternoon of Oct. 24 in their home on the South Side of Chicago.

Balfour had been on parole since his 2006 release from prison after a 1999 conviction for attempted murder until he was reportedly taken into police custody at around 6 PM on the day of the murders. He has not been charged in the case, though he was reportedly returned to prison on a parole violation after being held for 48 hours.

The day of the murders, he reportedly missed a meeting with his parole officer and told him that he was “babysitting on the West Side,” according to the Associated Press.

The Tribune reported that upon his arrest, he answered officers’ questions until offered a lie-detector test, which he refused to take.

Balfour is scheduled to have a hearing before the Illinois Prisoner Review Board at 9 AM on Monday, at which time he could be set free or held for further hearings should the board find probable cause that he has violated his parole or committed a crime.
