BACK STREET BOYS! REUNITE! FOR 7TH ALBUM!

// October 15th, 2009 // 1 Comment » // Hott News

damn ! is the recession that bad!?!

The guys are hoping their latest, grown-up album takes off and puts them back in the spotlight.

Backstreet+Boys

HOTT NEWS!

Theyre back once again!

Back in the day, the BACKSTREET BOYS blazed the boy band trail. Nick Carter and his 4 bandmates faced crowds of screaming teen girls (kind of like the swarms of ladies who follow Robert Pattinson’s every move today) and sold over 100 million albums. But, the musicians eventually got brushed aside and fell out of the spotlight. A couple rehab trips, babies, and break-ups later, Howie Dorough claims the band’s 7th album This is Us is going to put them back on the map. And, if not, they’re touring the map, anyway.

The group of 4 will go on the road at the end of the month (Kevin Richardson left the group a few years ago to start a family) and they’ve all apparently grown up a lot since hits like “I’ll Never Break Your Heart” from the late ’90s. It’s probably about time, but we’ll always have a soft spot for those 6th grade dance memories they made for us.

Dorough said in a Reuters interview, “We have grown into the adults we are now — the fathers, the friends, the entertainers that we are now and the career minded people that we are.”

Despite claiming they’re not the same girl-crazed music makers they once were, they’re still fine with being called “boys.” “Backstreet Men” does sound a little off, for sure. Dorough said: “Boys to us has never been an age thing. If the Beastie Boys and the Beach Boys and Pet Shop Boys can stay boys, so can we.”

The album debuted last week at #10 on the charts.

SOULJA BOY! GOES TO JAIL!

// October 9th, 2009 // No Comments » // Hott News

well d*mn! guess every rapper has their day!

soulja-boy_01

HOTT NEWS!

SMH!

SOULJA BOY got busted for partying with 40 people in an abandoned house in Georgia Wednesday night. Looks like they were “crankin’ dat thing” a little too loudly for the neighbors. So, the 19-year-old rapper had to be bailed out of jail the next day after police towed him away on misdemeanor obstruction charges and for not having permits to be on the property.

Soulja tried to wiggle his way out of it by saying they were filming a music video, but he still ended up going downtown. He fled the scene at first, then came back to pick up his Range Rover and got caught. Apparently Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em (which is what he prefers to go by) didn’t really live up to his name too well.

His 2007 hit “Crack That (Soulja Boy)” was downloaded digitally over 3 million times and was even nominated for a Grammy. He is supposed to appear at the BET Hip-Hop Awards this weekend.

WHAT’s HOTT!!! ABOUT THE VISTOSO BOSSES!

Their blossoming career!

Vistoso Bosses, comprised of Taylah.P and Kelci, is a high-energy girl group with infectious lyrics and sweet moves to match. “Our music is unique and eclectic, mixed with a little hip-hop,” explains rapper Kelci. Taylah.P, who sings vocals, further expands upon the group’s sound. “We have a new sound. We’re influenced by everyday teen stuff – school, boys, and having fun.”

Both are careful to explain that Vistoso Bosses is a strong concoction of music and image. Their witty personalities accompanied by a multihued fashion sense, makes them an easy eye catcher to tweens and teens alike.

Vistoso, defined as bright or colorful in the Spanish language, is the perfect adjective for the brilliant twosome. “Anybody can be vistoso,” says Kelci, “We’re all about having our own style.” Taylah.P excitedly agrees, “Most people think we’re all about not matching, but it’s about being yourself. We like being colorful. We wear what we feel.”

Kelci is quick to expand upon her state of bliss as the group celebrates being labelmates with Soulja Boy, Collipark Music’s most successful artist to date. “It feels great to be on one of the hottest record labels out.” Michael “Mr. Collipark” Crooms was introduced to the group by means of the Internet’s social networking magic.

The girls’ homemade videos to their popular debut songs “Delirious” and “Boy Crazy” were instant faves on YouTube and Myspace. “[Delirious] is a happy song,” says Taylah who details how the track came about. “We wrote the song along with St. James, a very talented producer.”

The group has since received the Myspace Artist of the Week accolade due to an overwhelming response from almost one-half million online fans. Mr. Collipark is enthusiastic about the debut of the self-proclaimed Bosses. “These girls are a breath of fresh air for the music industry. They’re positive, bright, and just all around creative,” describes the industry veteran responsible for the recent record-breaking success of Soulja Boy reaching the highest number of digital downloads ever in the history of music.

fs_sized_vb_shoot_blues

His assessment of the two as a teen girl-power group makes room for the pair to be artistically free of today’s misogynistic driven culture. “We want to be viewed as role models,” Taylah wholeheartedly explains. “We want to be an inspiration and positive light for girls of all ages.” Their melodious vocals and lovable look make this goal easy to achieve. “Don’t be afraid to be yourself,” both girls advise, “Being different is being cool.”
