RIHANNA is finally opening up about the night Chris Brown attacked her, and all the drama that came crashing down around her following it. The “Umbrella” singer, who was hit by her ex-boyfriend in February at a pre-Grammys party, said: “This happened to me. It can happen to anyone.” It was bad enough that she was dealing with the break-up and her bruises, inside and out, but there was a huge media frenzy weighing on her, too.

She said in an interview with Glamour magazine (via E! News): “I went to sleep as Rihanna and woke up as Britney Spears. That was the level of media chaos that happened the next day.” The, the 21-year-old beauty also admitted it was hard to come to terms with because of the feelings she had for the “Run It” singer. She says in an episode of Good Morning America due to air on Thursday: “He was definitely my first big love.”

Chris recently gave an interview about the assault and spoke of his regret about attacking Rihanna and told how he is trying his best to make amends. He said: “I’m human. If people feel a certain way, I’m not going to say they’re wrong. But it’s not right to judge somebody when people make mistakes all the time. I’ve learned from my mistakes and I’m learning from them. And I regret every moment, every second of it.”

Chris attacked Rihanna in his car as they left a pre-Grammy Awards party in February, repeatedly punching her in the face and biting her arms. He pleaded guilty to assault and in August was sentenced to 6 months of community service, 12 months of domestic violence counselling and 5 years probation. The judge also issued a restraining order which requires him to stay at least 100 yards from Rihanna for 5 years.

RIHANNA recently released the cover art for her new album, ‘Rated R’, to the celebrity news website PopEater.com. The album, which is set to be released on Monday, Nov. 23, is Rihanna’s first release since 2007’s ‘Good Girl Gone Bad.’

The ‘Rated R’ album cover was shot by photographer Ellen von Unwerth, who says that “Rihanna was looking to create something a bit new for the look of the album.” The final photo depicts Rihanna in black and white with her signature ‘pompadour’ hairstyle and lots of jewelry and patent leather. Rihanna released her first single, “Russian Roulette”, from the album earlier this month. The song was produced by Ne-Yo, who also helped her out on her hit “Unfaithful.” This is Rihanna’s first major release since the Chris Brown abuse thing, and the lyrics seem to reflect a darker, but stronger, Rihanna, appropriately. She sings: “Said I’m terrified, but I’m not leaving/I know that I must pass this test/so just pull the trigger.” The song ends with the artist taking a deep breath in, then there’s a single, jarring gunshot — then silence. Sometimes it‘s not that easy to move on!

CHRIS BROWN seem like he’s trying to get back under RIHANNA’s umbrella — it’s more like he’s trying to take it away and run off with her friends. The songstress just unleashed her newest single “Russian Roulette” this morning, and this afternoon her ex-boyfriend looked like he was trying to leave her out in the rain by announcing that he’s going back out on tour (a “Fan Appreciation Tour,” no less) starting November 14, about a week before Ri-Ri’s complete album drops the 23rd. One-up much?

The tour is slated to only last a month and the 19 shows will be performed at small venues across the country. Promoters are saying it’s designed that way so it’s like a “fans-only atmosphere.” So, you know, all his fans can feel like they’re individually being appreciated for showing up.

At least it looks like he’s repenting for assaulting Rihanna, an offense which landed him a boatload of community service hours after a few very public court appearances. A portion of the funds from the concerts is going to the Best Buddies International charity, an organization that promotes friendship and employment to people with disabilities, and to the Jenesse Center in LA, which helps domestic violence victims.

After New York, London and Milan, Paris Fashion Week provided almost as many fashion moments off the catwalk as on for style spectators.

RIHANNA hasn’t commented on her volatile relationship with CHRIS BROWN and the February assault that earned him five years probation, but that may change when her new album is released. Ne-Yo, who is working with the 21-year-old singer on the record, said: “Expect an edgier, almost angrier Rihanna on this one. Rihanna says some things on this album that you’ve never heard her say before.”

It’s been rumored Rihanna is planning to sing about the assault, or about the violence that plagued the relationship. Court papers have revealed the pair were involved in at least two other “domestic violence” incidents before the February altercation, during which Chris punched, kicked and choked Rihanna in his car.

Akon is also working with the pop beauty on her new songs, but he has no interest in appearing on any of her dark tracks. He said: “I’m not supposed to say anything but I’m going to work on as many songs as possible with her. I’m going to lighten her up. I don’t want an angry Rihanna.”

In May, it was claimed Rihanna had been writing a song about killing a cheating partner at the time of the assault. It was called “Emergency Room,” about a women who dreams of exacting revenge by hospitalizing her unfaithful partner. Lyrics include: “I’m going to leave your heart broken on the floor / You’re gonna be in the emergency room / I’m standing by your bed / And so tempted to pull out your IV.”

It has been claimed the argument between Chris and Rihanna started after she became angry that he had received a text message from an ex-girlfriend.
